Game: Tapper
Manufacturer: Bally Midway
Year: 1983
Type: horizontal color raster upright

Tapper is the essential bar game. The cabinet actually *is* a bar; it has the brass foot rail, brass drink holders, and two tappers mounted on the control panel. In the game, you play a bartender who must serve drinks to a demanding group of customers. You must deliver beers to them by sliding mugs down the bar towards them while catching the empty mugs they return. This game is also refered to as "Bud" or "Budweiser" Tapper because of its promotion of Budweiser in the music and graphics. There is even a "This Bud's for you" bonus screen.

In addition, Bally Midway also made a Rootbeer version of the game (apparently the original was frowned upon because of its apparent promotion of alcohol to minors). There is also a rare "Suntory" Tapper version that was implemented on a Sega platform, but it's doubtful a cabinet exists for it. "Suntory" is apparently some Japanese alcohol company.
